Baku, July 7, AssA-Irada -- A meeting of world Armenian youth will
be held in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan from July 26 to
August 1.
The gathering will be organized within the framework of the 2nd
Pan-Armenian "one nation - one culture" festival to be also held
across Armenian cities and in the Javakhetia region of Georgia densely
populated by Armenians, a source from Azerbaijan's Irali (Forward)
National Youth Movement said.
About 2,000 representatives from Armenia, Russia, Italy, USA, Austria,
Australia, Turkey, England, France, Iran and Syria are expected
to attend the event to be sponsored by Armenian President Robert
Kocharian, the same source said.
The Irali Movement, in its appeal to the embassies of foreign
countries, regarded the planned visit by the mentioned countries'
citizens to Garabagh to join the festival as disrespect to Azerbaijan's
territorial integrity.
The youth organization also intends to inform the Georgian embassy
in Baku about the planned festival.
"We will enumerate the areas to host the event so that the word
'occupied' is not used for the Javakhetia region in the future,"
it said in a statement.*
