The Kiruki Commission inquiry into the alleged Artur brothers was
Tuesday told how one of the said Armenian brothers, Artur Margaryian
drew two pistols at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Assistant Revenue Officer, Nelson Ochieng told the commission sitting
at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi that
Margaryan also used abusive language against custom officers when
they suggested retaining his luggage for assessment to establish how
much duty he had to pay.
He said Margaryan further pointed the guns at the crowd that had
started gathering outside the baggage hall, before he and his bodyguard
forcefully left with the luggages.
On cross examination by Lawyer Gibson Kamau Kuria, Ochieng denied
having threatened Margaryan at the customs clearing area.
Lawyer Kamau Kuria is appearing for the Nyeri Narc Activist Mary
Wamboi's daughter, Winfred Wangui.
