/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Four circles of issues were discussed during the
meeting with the EU delegation led by EU Special Representative Peter
Semneby, Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian said at a news
conference in Yerevan. "The first is the Armenia-EU cooperation. We
have already proceeded to the final stage of the elaboration of
the document and it will be ready till the end of the year. Then
we assessed the current stage of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict
settlement and considered Armenia's participation in the European
Neighborhood Policy, including the Armenia-Georgia and Armenia-Turkey
relations. We also touched upon the upcoming parliamentary election,"
Vartan Oskanian said.
For his part Mr Semneby remarked that the documents on the Armenia-EU
collaboration are based on the fundamental principles of democracy
and that the forthcoming election will have a decisive role for the
level of relations. He also informed he visited Georgia and Azerbaijan
before arriving in Yerevan. "I discussed the Armenian-Georgian and
Russian-Georgian relations, in part in the closing of Verkhny Lars
checkpoint," the Finnish diplomat said.
