Political Scientist David Babayan consider that OSCE Minsk Group
Co-Chair Matthew Bryza's visit is of both formal and political
character. It is formal in the regard that any newly appointed
Co-Chair should visit the countries evolved in the conflict to learn
the situation and to establish personal ties with leaders of those
countries.
As for the political nature, the case will not be resolved without a
visit to NKR. It's not a secret for anyone that together with
Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh is the main party of the conflict, despite
the fact whether it participates in the negotiations or not. Holding
Karabakh-Azerbaijan direct talks is just a matter of time. Therefore,
Bryza's visit to NKR is important especially from this perspective,
particularly on the background of failure of the negotiations between
the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
