EXPORT OF ARMENIAN STONE DOES NOT EXCEED 2-3 MLN DOLLARS

The export of the Armenian stone does not exceed 2-3 mln dollars,
Arsen Ghazaryan, chairman of industrials and entrepreneurs union told
a symposium today. He said this is not a good indicator and makes only
a small part of GDP. At present, Armenian stones are exported to NIS
countries, USA, France, Germany and Australia in small quantities only.
The leading companies in stone processing, like Multy Stone or Karart
are very young and have started newly to advance in the international
market. In his words, the annual growth of the field fluctuates from
25-20 percent.
