BAKU SUGGESTS SHORT TERMS OF RESOLVING THE KARABAKH CONFLICT

"Baku is ready to provide the highest level of autonomy to
Nagorno-Karabakh, including the status equal to the one of Tatarstan
within the Russian Federation," the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan
Elmar Mammadyarov said, Day.az. informs.
"The Constitution of Tatarstan, for instance, allows opening
representation of the republic in a foreign country," Elmar Mammadyarov
noted, adding that the issue of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh
should be resolved earlier or later, and Baku suggests settling
the question within short terms. For this, however, it is important
to create necessary conditions to allow Azerbaijanis residing here
participate in the process. Mammadyarov declared that in the course
of time Azerbaijan will get even more powerful, therefore "Karabakh
Armenians should realize that for their own prosperity they had better
stay Azeri citizens."
