RA PARLIAMENTARY SPEAKER AND PACE SECRETARY GENERAL DISCUSS AGGRESSIVE POLICY OF AZERBAIJANI DELEGATION TO PACE

Yerevan, June 29. ArmInfo. Tigran Torossyan, RA Parliamentary Chairman,
the Head of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly
of the Council of Europe, discussed the aggressive policy of the
Azerbaijani delegation to PACE with the Secretary General of PACE Terry
Davis in Strasbourg, the RA Parliamentary press office told ArmInfo.

    T. Torossyan stressed the importance of PACE sessions both for the
discussion fulfillment of CE member-states's commitments and other
general issues. While, Azerbaijani delegation uses PACE tribune
slander and make groundless allegations against Armenia, he said. T.
Torosyan explained that this time the Azerbaijani delegation raised
the issue of fires in the green areas around Nagorny Karabakh. He
informed Terry Davis of the real picture. T. Torosyan pointed out that
the Azerbaijani delegation performed a political show in Strasbourg 2
weeks before the NKR leadership applied to the Representatives of OSCE
CIO Assistant for monitoring of the real situation. In such conditions,
one cannot hold Armenian delegates from return speeches. In his turn,
Terry Davis called the slander and lie unworthy of the Council of
Europe and proposed taking measures to correct the situation. He agreed
that the problem is really serious and promised to take measures. As
regards the June 8 interview of Terry Davis with the correspondent of
Yerkir Media TV, CE Secretary General explained that the correspondent
drove him to make condemning statements, specifically, on the problem
of Armenia's economic blockade by Turkey while he has no sufficient
data on this issue. In this connection, Terry Davis requested the
    full text of the interview.
