DAVID HAYRAPETIAN WINS IN RUSSIAN BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP

KHANTY MANSIYSK, MARCH 9, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. On March
5, the Russian Boxing Championship ended in Khanty Mansiysk. This
was one of the chief elimination tournaments to the July Europe
Championship. According to the "Yerkramas" (Territory) newspaper of
Armenians of Russia, David Hayrapetian from the Stavropol territory
won in the weight category of up to 48 kg. A number of other boxers
of Armenian origin also became prize-winners in the championship:
in the weight category of up to 54 kg Artur Hambartsumian (Krasnodar
territory) took the third place, in the cetegory of up to 60 kg
Eduard Hambartsumian (autnomous region of Khanty Mansiysk) won a
silver medal, in the cetegory of up to 69 kg David Arustamian (Moscow)
won a bronze medal.
