TURKEY MAY RECOGNIZE "GENOCIDE COMMITTED BY FRANCE IN ALGERIA"

a new bill for prosecution of persons openly denying the Armenian
Genocide, Turkey is seriously considering the possibility of
recognition of "a genocide committed by France in Algeria." Among
scheduled steps is erection of a monument in one of districts
of Istanbul "in memory of victims of the genocide of peaceful
population in Algeria committed in the years of struggle for national
independence," Trend reports.
