GENOCIDE REPORTED TO INTERNATIONAL TRIBUNAL

The World Congress of Armenians has initiated to report the question
of genocide to an international court, stated the president of the
Congress Ara Abrahamyan on May 17. This initiative will involve
a large group of experts, who will prepare a necessary basis. The
president of the World Congress of Armenians says much clarification
is needed. Ara Abrahamyan says, for instance, it is necessary to put
down the exact years when the genocide was perpetrated, for presently
different dates are mentioned. The author of the initiative says it
is necessary to find out and make their initiative correspond to the
policy of the Armenian government, which, according to Ara Abrahamyan,
is not clear with regard to this question.
Besides, Ara Abrahamyan is likely to set up an organization of West
Armenians, which will hold its third congress in 2007. The first two
congresses were held in Ottoman Turkey before the genocide.
