JORDAN'S PREMIER SUPPORTS AZERBAIJAN IN CONFLICT WITH ARMENIA

    ANS TV, Azerbaijan
    Nov 9 2006

Jordanian Prime Minister Ma'ruf al-Bakhit has said that his country
will support Azerbaijan should hostilities with Armenia resume.

Speaking on commercial ANS TV's "Point of View" programme on 9
November, the premier said that Jordan will always stick to the
policy of supporting Arabic and Muslim countries and support Muslim
Azerbaijan should hostilities resume between Baku and Yerevan.

Al-Bakhit expressed the hope that Armenia will comply with the UN
Security Council resolutions on unconditional withdrawal of its troops
from Azerbaijan's occupied territories and it will have to pull out
of occupied Azerbaijani territories sooner or later.

The premier said that he discussed ways of improving economic and
political relations between Jordan and Azerbaijan during his meetings
with President Ilham Aliyev and other senior Azerbaijani officials.

He noted that the two countries share the same view on the fight
    against terrorism.
