FRENCH PREFECT COMMEMORATES ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 4, ARMENPRESS: Jacques Bravo, the prefect of 9-th
district of Paris, who is also a senior member of the French Socialist
party, paid homage today to the victims of the Armenian genocide by
laying a wreath to the Genocide Memorial in Yerevan. He was accompanied
by a top member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF).
The French official also visited the Genocide Memorial. Speaking later
to Armenian journalist the prefect expressed hope that the Armenian
genocide will be eventually acknowledged by the whole world.
"Twenty years ago I was among demonstrators who marched in Paris
demanding the recognition of the Armenian genocide by France," he said,
saying also he will do what he can to promote the genocide recognition.
