SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (AP) -- Li Hongli and Qiu Hongmei
claimed titles Tuesday and hiked China's gold medal tally to 14 at
the weightlifting world championships.
Li won the snatch in the men's 77-kilo class, while Qiu took the
women's overall 58-kilo title.
Turkey's Olympic champion Taner Sagir took the overall 77-kilo title
and Li settled for silver. Armenia's Ara Khachatryan took bronze.
Russia won a pair of medals in the men's 77-kilo class and also won
the women's 58-kilo snatch.
The competition continues through Sunday.
