The issue of opening a museum of "European Center in Memory of
Victims of Ethnic Cleansing" will be discussed at the meeting of the
Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) On October,
the member of the Azerbaijani Delegation in PACE Rafael Huseynov
told Trend.
He stressed that the report regarding the creation of the "European
Center in Memory of Victims of Ethnic Cleansing" museum was included in
the agenda. Members of the Azerbaijani delegation will also participate
in the discussions. "The opening of such a museum was discussed last
year. We also participated in these debates and offered our opinion
that the ethical cleansing committed against Azerbaijan is also
reflected in this museum. But at that time, this matter was discussed
by the members of the Turkish and Azerbaijani delegations. The Turkish
parliamentarians pointed out that Armenia had taken advantage of
these circumstances and used the fictitious genocide to be reflected
in the museum. Therefore, it was decided to remove this subject from
the agenda. But evidently this matter has once again been included
in the agenda due to the efforts of certain forces," Huseynov stated.
In addition, he ruled out that a resolution will be passed regarding
this issue. "We will try to make the resolution simple so that the
museum reflects the documents describing general genocides," he said.
Huseynov pointed out that on the same day, the Azerbaijani delegation
will hold discussions linked with the ratification of several
international conventions on the topic of "Reflection of Refugee
Problems in the Press".
