FM MEETS WITH NATO SECRETARY GENERAL'S SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE FOR CAUCASUS AND CENTRAL ASIA

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with NATO Secretary
General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia
Robert Simmons and his accompanying delegation, press service of the
Ministry said.
Mr. Simmons spoke of the prospects of further enhancing the cooperation
between Azerbaijan and NATO, and said he believes the bilateral
scientific relations will also deepen.
Elmar Mammadyarov welcomed the rapidly developing Azerbaijan-NATO ties.
The Azeri Minister recalled the joint statement recently issued by
Azerbaijan and the European Union troika, saying integration into
Euroatlantic structures and expansion of bilateral relations serve
the interests of his country.
On the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, Elmar
Mammadyarov said the dispute poses a serious threat to the entire
region.
He stressed the importance of the complete withdrawal of Armenian
troops from Azerbaijan's territories.
