NATIONAL CURRENCY TO CONTINUE STRENGTHENING, CB BOARD MEMBER SAYS

Armenian national currency will continue strengthening in case of the
current pace of economic development, Vache Gabrielyan, board member
of the Central Bank (CB) told reporters today.
In his words, the tendency to have stronger local currency
continues. Gabrielyan urges to save only in local currency for the
coming few years. He said the government tries to stabilize the
prices. "Three percent inflation is an international accepted norm
and assumes stable prices," he said.
Asked why imported goods do not go down in prices in case of
revaluation of dram, Gabrielyan said it is connected with the structure
of market.
