TURKEY CONDEMNS REPORT ADOPTED BY COMMITTEE OF EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 6, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. Turkey condemned
on September 5 the report adopted on the previous day by the European
Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, in which it is particularly
said that "Ankara's recognition of the Armenian Genocide must be a
precondition for Turkey's membership to the European Union." Radio
Liberty states about it. "We are desperate from efforts of imposing
non-objective preconditions on issues demanding a serious scientific
study. Some elements of the report written for political reasons are
incoferent for such an authoritative organization of the European
Parliament," according to Francepress, it's said in the statement
spread by the Foreign Ministry of Turkey.
