Georgian Interior Ministry: Attempt of Coup d'Etat Prevented

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Resulting from a special operation the Georgian
Interior Ministry detained 29 proponents of Justice Party, led by
Igor Giorgadze, and a number of other opposition organizations,
Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Vano Merabishvili stated.
"From 5 a.m. a special operation was held throughout Georgia to
detain Justice Party members, as well as organizations supporting Igor
Giorgadze. 29 persons are arrested. They will be indicted on article
315 of the Georgian Criminal Code: plot against state and overthrow,"
Merabishvili said.
In Merabishvili's words, Georgian law-enforcement bodies possessed
operative information on the plot.
450 law enforcement officers took part in the operation throughout
the country, reports RIA Novosti.
