ARMENIAN NUCLEAR POWER PLANT TO BE HALTED FOR REFUELING

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS: Armenia's nuclear power plant
in Metsamor will be brought to a halt on October 1 for a regular
maintenance and refueling.
Gagik Markosian, the director of the plant, said apart from regular
maintenance new systems enabling to raise the plant's safety are to
be installed. He said the repair will take 45 days.
The nuclear plant accounts for about between 40-45 percent of all
power produced in Armenia. During the standstill hydro power plants
will increase their output to fill in the deficit.
