MAJLIS SPEAKER LEAVES TEHRAN FOR YEREVAN

LONDON, September 11 (IranMania) - According to an IRNA report, Majlis
Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel left Tehran for Yerevan, Armenia,
Monday morning on the first of a two-nation visit that will also take
him to Kyrgyzstan.
Haddad-Adel is scheduled to hold talks with senior Armenian officials.
Speaking to reporters at Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport,
he said "expansion of ties with Caucasus and Central Asian states
has always been on Iran's agenda.
He said his visits take place upon invitations extended to him by
the parliament speakers of these two countries and in response to
previous visits they made to Tehran.
"During these visits, the sides will discuss avenues for bolstering
political, economic and parliamentary friendly cooperation as well
as the current situation in the region," he added.
The Majlis speaker is accompanied in these visits by a number of
state officials and Majlis deputies.
