NO LAW: THEY KEEP TOXICATING PEOPLE

Every spring causes toxic environment for the people.
The burning leaves cause harms to people's health, which is stated by
the experts of health and environment. But there is no law in Armenia
supervising and forbidding these actions.
The Panorama.am reporter talked with the head of the environmental
department of the municipality of Yerevan Avet Martirosyan. According
to him the department manages in some way those activities. "In
the department we have our employees who supervise the situation
and register the violations. We send those registrations to the
Environmental Ministry," said Martirosyan.
He stated that the fees for the violations are kept at the Ministry and
that they do not have such institution dealing with the fees. Note
that the department registered only 10 cases this year, but the
burning leaves are seen nearly at every building.
According to the experts the burning materials contain 70 types of
toxic items in them which cause asthma, bronchial diseases.
>From the Ministry of Environment our reporter was informed that the
supervision is being held only on the alarms and the violation penalty
is 50 thousands drams.
