NOVRUZ MAMMADOV: "AZERBAIJANI PRESIDENT DEMANDED CO-CHAIRS TO EXPLAIN THEIR POSITIONS ON UN VOTE"

Bucharest. Fakhri Karimli -APA. "President of Azerbaijan Ilham
Aliyev had a meeting with OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in rather tense
atmosphere", Novruz Mammadov, head of the International Relations
Department of the President's Office told journalists after the
meeting, APA Eastern European Bureau reported.
He said the meeting had been held on the request of the co-chairs.
"President Ilham Aliyev expressed to the co-chairs his
tough and resolute stance on the recent negotiations over the
Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. The President has also demanded
all three co-chairs to explain the positions of OSCE Minsk Group
co-chairs - Russia, France and US during a voting on the situation
in the occupied Azerbaijani territories in the 62nd session of
the UN General Assembly. The co-chairs said they were supporting
the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and would express their
opinions once again in the written statement to be issued on April
3. Probability of the meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham
Aliyev and Armenian newly-elected president Serj Sarkisian within
the NATO Bucharest Summit is not on the agenda.
