    STATE BUDGETARY EXPENDITURES GROW BY 74.1 BILLION DRAMS LAST YEAR

    YEREVAN, APRIL 17, NOYAN TAPAN. At the April 17 sitting, the Armenian
    government approved the RA National Assembly's draft decision on
    approval of the annual report on execution of the 2007 state budget
    of the Republic of Armenia. The deputy minister of finance, chief
    treasurer Atom Janjughazian told reporters after the sitting that in
    2007 the state budgetary revenues grew by 70.2 bln drams (about 226
    mln USD) or 4.6% and made 588 bln drams.

    Taxes and duties increased by 32.7% (without a growth in the rates)
    in 2007 as compared with 2006.

    According to A. Janjughazian, the budgetary expenditures grew by
    74.1 bln drams to 634.7 bln drams, which exceeds by 31.9% the 2006
    index. Pensions grew by 16.6%, family benefits - by 16.7% in 2007.

    It was mentioned that in 2007 the domestic state debt amounted to 66
    bln 303 mln drams or 2,1% of GDP, while the foreign state debt made
    1 bln 440 mln drams or 15.8% of GDP.
