YEREVAN, 18.04.08. DE FACTO. "Armenia is ready to continue current
talks to achieve the issue's settlement. However, only our readiness is
not enough. Azerbaijan should also be ready to search the solution",
the RA new FM Edvard Nalbandian stated in an interview with Mediamax
Agency.
The RA FM expressed hope that "together with Azerbaijani counterpart
we'll display responsibility, leave aside communication and statements
via press, as well as practice of teaching each other and giving
advice".
According to Armenian FM, its is impossible to urge for a compromise,
stating at the same time that the decision will be in favor of only
one of the parties, speak of constructivism and simultaneously make
bellicose statements and prepare for a war.
"The talks' cornerstone is the issue of the Nagorno-Karabakh's status,
and it should be resolved via peaceful talks, via a plebiscite,
which will afford the Nagorno-Karabakh population an opportunity of
free will, which is the essence of the talks' current stage. I guess
today there exists a possibility to settle the conflict, and it can
be achieved by expressing a political will", the RA FM noted.
