CUSTOMS PRICES INCREASED

Today al the employees of fairs situated in Yerevan gathered in front
of the Government building. They are concerned with the customs taxes
price increase implementing from 17 April.
Susanna Gevorgyan , who works in "Hrazdan" fair, mentioned that they
were paying 2,5 dollars for 1 kilo product imported from Turkey,
but now they have to pay 8 dollars. "If I am paying such sum, then
I am working without any profit. Today not only my family lives on
this job but many others'. They want to cut the small business in
Armenia and create monopoly here, and we die from starving," she said.
According to gayane Grigoryan, a month ago she paid 7 dollars for 1
kilo product imported from China but now she has to pay 18 dollars. She
added that the product imported from Syria cost her 3,5 dollars but
now it is changes: 8 dollars for a kilo. "All the product prices
are increased importing from other countries. My merchandise is at
customs committee now as I don't have such big sum to pay and get my
merchandise," she said.
The head of the territorial administration of the government Khachatur
Vardanyan talked with people and said that no prices are increased
at the moment but it is still vague what will be in the future.
