ARMENIAN WEIGHTLIFTING NATIONAL TEAMS RETURN TO HOMELAND WITH VICTORY

YEREVAN, APRIL 22, NOYAN TAPAN. The Armenian weightlifting men's
and women's national teams returned to Yerevan on April 22. They
took the first place by the number of medals (13 gold, 3 silver,
and 1 bronze medals) in the Europe Weightlifting Championship held
in the city of Lignano, Italy. In Zvartnots airport the members of
the Armenian sports delegation were met by Armen Grigorian, the RA
Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, Gagik Tsarukian, the Chairman of
the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, heads of sports departments,
as well as hundreds of sport fans.
In their interview to journalists the weightlifters promised that the
expectations will be also justified during the Beijing Olympic Games.
