The due announcement was made by Esmira Orujeva, chairman of Public
Association of Assistance to Prisoners and Hostages "Hasret Yolu".
She said that in an attempt to mislead the society Armenians try
to persuade the world that the so-called "genocide" was committed
against them.
"In 1915-1918 2,200,000 Muslims were brutally killed in Turkey. 400,000
Azerbaijanis were killed in the territory of Azerbaijan in the said
period and 120,000 in Iran", Orujeva noted.
She said that a number of leading countries of the world apply the
policy of double standards regarding Turkey, using "the genocide of
Armenians", as a means of political pressure on this country.
"Over 20,000 our compatriots were killed and 50,000 became disabled
in the result of occupation policy, conducted by Armenians against
Azerbaijanis. During the first Karabakh war 5,000 citizens of
Azerbaijan were missing", said Orujeva.
She stressed need to continue arrangements, aimed at drawing attention
of the world society to facts of genocide committed by Armenians
against Azerbaijanis.
"If we were Christians, the leading countries would believe us rather
than Armenians", Orujeva said.
