    ARMENIAN PRIME MINISTER RECEIVES THE HEAD OF THE RUSSIAN CULTURE AND CINEMATOGRAPHY FEDERATIVE AGENCY

    YEREVAN, APRIL 23, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian
    received today the head of the Russian Culture and Cinematography
    Federative Agency Mikhail Shvidkoy.

    Governmental press service told Armenpress that greeting the guest,
    the prime minister noted that culture is one of the important bases
    of integration between the two peoples in different spheres. During
    the meeting the sides discussed a number of issues on cooperation in
    the cultural sphere.

    Mikhail Shvidkoy said that he is glad that the head of the Armenian
    government is paying a great attention to the culture. He also
    expressed gratitude for the state support in conduction of "Seasons
    of Russian Culture in Armenia". Noting that they are also planning to
    conduct "Seasons of Armenian Culture" in Russia, Shvidkoy expressed
    hope that in future they will be held periodically.

    During the meeting the prime minister also spoke about necessity of
    high quality cultural TV programs, noting that he has assigned to
    work out a relevant concept and it will be good to get the support of
    Shvidkoy in the development and implementation of the program taking
    into consideration his great experience in the field.

    The head of the Russian Culture and Cinematography Federative Agency
    expressed readiness to support at his best.

    During the meeting they particularly pointed out the necessity of
    cultural programs for young people as the new generation does not
    have enough idea about the rich culture of our peoples. Shvidkoy
    also noted that it is possible to develop cooperation within the CIS
    humanitarian cooperation foundation as well.
