VERNATUN UNION PUBLISHES TWO NEW BOOKS

AKHALKALAK, APRIL 24, ARMENIANS TODAY - NOYAN TAPAN. The Vernatun
Union of Armenian Writers of Georgia has published the sixth literary
chronicle and the fifth issue of Zartonk of the Literary Shoots
club. Both collections have been edited by Union Chairman Gevorg
Snkhchian.
The chronicle's regular issue has been published with the financial
assistance of benefactors, Georgian Armenian Hasmik Nikoghosian and
American Armenian Araksi Gapushian-Tatulian.
The chronicle also includes Hovhannes Marikian's greeting speech to
benefactor Sergei Khalachian from Heshti, residing in Russia, with the
assistance of which the church of his native village has been repaired.
As A-Info reports, Vernatun-6 is multi-genre. It opens with the
selected poems of Viktor Hovsepian. Poems by Rafael Javakhk,
Hovhannes Marikian, Dvin Kashanian, Araksia Snkhchian, Artyush
Gevorgian, Nazeli Nairi, and others are also included in it.
The chronicle's prose section is also rich. Works by Mikayel Yesoyan,
Khazhak Yeprikian, Monika Kurkchian, and others are presented here.
Prose and poetry literary attempts of Literary Shoots club's 7 members
are included in Zartonk-5. Six young authors are presented in the
Our New Shoots section.
It should be mentioned that 2008 is a jubilee year for Vernatun. A
festivity dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Tumanian's Vernatun
and 10th anniversary of its restoration will take place on May 24
in Tbilisi's Petros Adamian Armenian theater and Sayat Nova Vardaton
will take place in Tbilisi the next day.
