    TRIBUTE TO THE VICTIMS OF THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

    RA President Serzh Sargsyan, Parliament Speaker Tigran Torosyan,
    Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan the Catholicos of All Armenians, His
    Holiness Garegin II, Deputies of the National Assembly Government
    representatives, the senior Officer staff of the Armed Forces, other
    officials, politicians, intellectuals, heads of foreign diplomatic
    missions accredited in Armenia visited Tsitsernakaberd today to pay
    tribute to the memory of the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide.

    The leaders of the Republic of Armenia, the spiritual leadership
    of the Mother See, the guests bowed before the eternal flame with a
    silence minute and laid flowers. Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin
    II offered a commemoration service.

    "There is no Armenian family, hat would not grieve with us today, there
    is no family that has nothing to do with those tragic events. Directly
    or indirectly, this crime has knocked at the door of every Armenian
    family, and we should draw lessons from the history. Let God give us
    wisdom for learning these lessons for such tragedies not to reoccur in
    the future. I think we must be clever enough to understand that the
    guarantee of avoiding such events in the future is being strong and
    united. Let the God give us wits to understand this simple truth,"
    RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said.

    Wreaths were laid at the Memorial on behalf of the ministries,
    territorial administration bodies, different agencies, political
    forces, students, scientists, cultural workers, NGOs.

    Holy Masses were offered in Armenian Churches of the Motherland and
    Diaspora. Commemoration ceremonies were held in different countries.

    The Armenian Genocide has been recognized and denounced by different
    state institutions of about twenty countries, different international
    organizations including the European Union. The Armenian Genocide has
    been recognized by about forty US States, City Halls of different
    cities. A resolution on the Armenian Genocide is currently on the
    agenda of the Israeli Knesset. The Armenian Genocide Resolutions in
    the US House of Representatives and the Senate have a great number
    of supporters.
