NORWAY'S FOREIGN MINISTER CALLS NAGORNO KARABAKH CONFLICT A TRAGEDY

Baku. Tamara Grigorieva-APA. Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar
Mammadyarov met on Tuesday with his Norwegian counterpart Jonas Gahr
Store, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The ministers held a press-conference following the
meeting. Mammadyarov said they had discussed bilateral strategic
issues and cooperation in economic and energy fields, as well as
cooperation within the international organizations. Norway promised
to give comprehensive support to Azerbaijan in WTO membership. Jonas
Gahr Store called the Nagorno Karabakh conflict a tragedy and said the
problem should be solved peacefully. He emphasized rapid development
of Azerbaijan and reforms carried out in the country. The minister
touched upon the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan. "We
observed the elections in neighboring countries and unfortunately
those elections didn't meet all European standards. Now we all are
focusing on Azerbaijan and expecting for real democratic elections
in this country".
