  • Many goods cannot get to Armenia from Georgia

A lot of almost 1,500 tons of petrol belonging to Flash company is
among goods that cannot get to Armenia from Georgia

ArmInfo. A lot of almost 1,500 tons of petrol belonging to Flash, one
of the biggest oil traders in Armenia, is among the goods that cannot
get to Armenia from Georgia, says the deputy director of Flash Musheg
    Elchyan.

The company still has petrol for sale but the problem is that it is
receiving no new quotas for petrol import from Iran. Presently the
company is importing diesel fuel from Turkmenistan via Iran. "Last time
we imported almost 400-500 tons. We are planning to import the fuel
once in 3-4 days," says Elchyan. He points out that they are spending
much more to transport this fuel than they did when importing fuel from
Russia - 10% against just 3%-4% of fuel's cost. "We hope that the
deliveries via Georgia's sea ports will be shortly resumed," says
    Elchyan.

Today, the Armenian market is running increasingly short of petrol and
diesel fuel. Most of the filling stations are standing idle. This
situation has been caused by the Aug 16 explosion of the railway bridge
in Caspi and the stoppage of the railway communication between Armenia
    and Georgia.
