EVENT ORGANIZED IN YEREVAN TO DO HONOR TO SPORTSMEN AND COACHES HAVING GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS IN PAST TOURNAMENT SEASON

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, NOYAN TAPAN. An event was organized at
Alexander Spendiarian National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet
on December 4 to do honor to Beijing Olympic Games prize-winners and
World Chess Olympiad champions, their personal and national teams'
coaches. Chairman of Armenian National Olympic Committee Gagik
Tsarukian greeted those present. RA President Serzh Sargsyan was
invited to the stage at G. Tsarukian's request.
They awarded 24 leading sportsmen and coaches monetary prizes
instituted by the RA government and cars of various marks.
A film was shown presenting the work done in the sports sphere at
the past Olympic four-year stage. Cultural ensembles performed.
