TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian filmmaker Roqayyeh Tavakkoli's short films
were screened at the fifth annual Kin International Film Festival
in Armenia.
Tavakkoli's Water and Party were screened along with films directed
by women filmmakers from 11 countries.
Roqayyeh Tavakkoli is one the Iranian women filmmakers whose impressive
works have raked in international awards in recent years, press
tv said.
Manijeh Hekmat, Rakhshan Banietemad, Tahmineh Milani, Niki Karimi
and Samira Makhmalbaf are among Iran's internationally acclaimed
women filmmakers.
Organized by the Armenian non­governmental Liza Foundation, the 2008
Kin International Film Festival was held from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2 at
Yerevan's Puppet Theater.
The five-day event screened some fifty films by women directors
from around the globe with the aim of promoting women's rights and
supporting their social and political participation.
