    PRELATE TO PRESIDE OVER DIVINE LITURGY AT
    HOLY MARTYRS CHURCH IN ENCINO

    On Sunday, December 21st, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian,
    Prelate, will preside over Divine Liturgy at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino
    and will deliver the sermon.
    By the ordinance of the prelate an on the occasion of the 50th
    anniversary of the North American Prelacy and the 35th anniversary of the
    Western Prelacy, requiem service will take place in all Prelacy churches for
    H.H. Catholicos Zareh I, H.H. Catholicos Khoren I, H.H. Catholicos Karekin
    II, and the first Prelate of North America H.E. Archbishop Hrant
    Khatchadourian. Requiem will also be offered for the departed servants of
    our churches and Prelacy.


    ARCHBISHOP OSHAGAN CHOLOYAN TO PRESIDE OVER DIVINE LITURGY AT ST. MARY'S
    CHURCH IN GLENDALE

    Prelate of the Eastern United States H.E. Archbishop Oshagan
    Choloyan will be in Los Angeles to participate in the celebration of the
    50th anniversary of the North American Prelacy and the 35th anniversary of
    the Western Prelacy, which will take place on Sunday, December 21st, at 6:00
    p.m. at St. Mary's Church in Glendale. The Prelate will deliver his remarks
    during the event.
    Earlier in the day, Archbishop Choloyan will preside over Divine
    Liturgy at St. Mary's Church and deliver the sermon.


    ACYA NEW YEAR AND CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

    The fourth annual Armenian Church Youth Association New Year and
    Christmas celebration will take place on Saturday, December 27th, at 7:30
    p.m., at "Karapetian" Hall of St. Garabed Church in Hollywood.
    The celebration will take place under the auspices of the Prelate
    and has been organized by the ACYA central board.
    The event is open to youth ages 18-35 and tickets can be purchased
    by calling 818-859-9081.

    PRELATE AND EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEET WITH DELEGATES AND BOARDS OF TRUSTEES

    By invitation of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and
    the Executive Council, on the evening of Tuesday, December 16th, Clergy,
    Delegates, and Boards of Trustees gathered at the "Dikran and Zarouhie Der
    Ghazarian" Hall for a discussion of issues of concern to all our parishes.
    The meeting convened with remarks by H.E. Archbishop Moushegh
    Mardirossian, Prelate, who welcomed the representatives and stated the
    purpose of the meeting which was to discuss and explore the decisions and
    suggestions made by the Representatives Assembly and to exchange information
    and share knowledge.
    Given that the Prelate and delegates had recently returned from
    Antelias where they participated in the General Assembly of the
    Catholicosate of Cilicia, the Prelate and Executive Council Chairman Dr.
    Garo Agopian conveyed the outcome of the Assembly and the suggestions put
    forth.
    The Prelate also conveyed the details of his trip to the Vatican
    where he has joined the delegation of H.H. Catholicos Aram I on an official
    visit to H.H. Pope Benedict XVI.
    The discussion then turned to the 35th anniversary of the Prelacy
    which will be celebrated on Sunday, December 21st, at St. Mary's Church in
    Glendale.
    The meeting also offered the opportunity for a discussion on
    reinvigorating our parishes and expanding the range of our mission to reach
    as many faithful as possible. In this regards, Executive Council member Mr.
    Nerses Melkonian spoke of the efforts being undertaken by the committee
    assigned for this specific task.
    Following a question and answer session, the meeting came to a close
    with the singing of "Giligia".
