Over the past month Armenia Fund has launched three projects in
NKR. The school of the village of Togh in Hadrut is being renovated,
the school building of the village of Aknaghbyur of the same region
is being enlarged, and a nursery school is being built in the village
of Mataghis, Martakert region, Armenia Fund reports.

The renovation of the school in Togh is part of the project Rebirth
of Artsakh and costs 139 million drams. The school was damaged
heavily during the war, the roof is bad, the school has no heating,
water, toilets. The school has 100 students, classes are held on
the first floor and a small building next to school which is also
the music school. The classrooms are heated with wood stoves, and
the schoolchildren are waiting impatiently when their school will
    be repaired.

Currently the foundation is being reinforced, in the upcoming months
the system of heating will be installed, the roof will be repaired
and the school yard will be improved.

The project of Aknaghbyur is aimed to enlarge the building of the
village school to build new classrooms. The first floor has been
completed. The project costs 24 million drams, and is funded by the
    French branch of Armenia Fund.

The Lebanese office of Armenia Fund funds the project of reconstruction
of the former school into a nursery school, which costs 20 million
    drams.

Currently the roof is being repaired, and preparations for redecoration
    are underway, Armenia Fund reports.

With assistance from the Armenian community of Toronto Armenia Fund
built the school of Mataghis in 2007, which now has 70 students. The
vice principal of the school Nelly Gasparyan says thanks to the new
school the number of young people in the village has increased and
15 young teachers got jobs at the new school.
