Ericsson Wins IMS Contract With ArmenTel
ArmenTel, VimpelCom's operator in Armenia, has selected Ericsson as
the supplier and systems integrator of an IP multimedia subsystem
solution, it has been announced.
The solution will deliver a next-generation network which will
support integrated fixed and mobile services.
As part of the deal, Ericsson will transform ArmenTel's
already-existing network into an IMS-based, fixed, mobile convergent
one.
An IMS-based service allows personalised communication through voice,
pictures, video and text media.
Dmity Pleskonos, vice president of VimpelCom, said: "We are glad that
long-term cooperation with Ericsson as mobile systems supplier served
as a basis for the extension of our partnership in such an important
area as mobile-fixed convergence, where we see great potential.
Ericsson's advanced end-to-end solution will allow our subscribers to
enjoy a wide range of hi-end telecom services."
