Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Presidential candidate, Leader of
National-Democratic Union (NDU) Vazgen Manukian stated in Yerevan
today that "neither of the oppositional candidates is able to gain
over 20% in the first round of the presidential elections"
Mediamax reports that Vazgen Manukian said this today during the
meeting with the journalists in the Information Center on NATO
in Yerevan.
According to him, it is obvious that neither the candidate from the
ruling party, nor anybody from the representatives of the opposition,
is able to gain victory in the first round of the elections on
February 19.
Leader of NDU stated that in these conditions, a central factor will
become the following - which candidate among the representatives of the
opposition will be able to better unite around himself the oppositional
electorate in the second round. At that Vazgen Manukian refused to make
any supposition as to who has real chances to enter the second round.
