OVER 2,000 ELEVATORS TO BE REPAIRED IN 2008

YEREVAN, February 11. /ARKA/. 2,464 elevators are to be repaired
in Yerevan in 2008, the Mayor of Yerevan Yervand Zakharian told
journalists.
For capital overhaul the city municipality picked up the elevators
that are completely out of operation, the Mayor said. The program also
envisages renovation of elevators that are partly damaged, he added.
The elevator repair program started in 2007 and 400 elevators were
repaired last year, the Mayor said.
Armenia's Government appropriated 3bln Drams ($9.7mln) for capital
repair and replacement of elevators in Yerevan in 2007. The official
number of the municipal elevators in Yerevan is 4,261. -0--
