AVETIK GRIGORIAN, SIRANUSH ANDRIASIAN AND LILIT GALOYAN BECOME PRIZE WINNERS IN INTERNATIONAL CHESS TOURNAMENT OF IRAN

URMIA, FEBRUARY 12, NOYAN TAPAN. The traditional Fajr International
Chess Tournament was held in the city of Urmia of Iran between February
3-10. In the struggle of 247 participants Avetik Grigorian received 9
out of 11 possible points and took second place. The first was Ghayem
Maghami (Iran, 9.5 points).
In the struggle of 70 chess players of the woman tournament Lilit
Galoyan, Siranush Andriasian, Nino Batsiashvili, and Sofiko Tereladze
(Georgia) received 7 out of 9 possible points each and took from
the first up to the fourth places correspondingly (with individual
showings).
