ARMENIAN HOCKEY TEAM OFF TO BOSNIA

13 February, 2008
Yesterday evening the Armenian hockey team left for Bosnia to partake
in the World Hockey Championship qualifiers scheduled for February
15. Armenia's contenders are Bosnia and Greece.
The winner stands a good chance to move on to the third division.
"We have great expectations from the team. We expect good results. But
I don't want to go ahead and make predictions," Karen Khachatrian,
Chairman of the Armenian Hockey Federation, told A1+.
Both Bosnia and Greece yield to Armenia with regard to their
performance.
Greeks participate in an international tournament though hockey
is known to date back to the 1980s in the country. It is due to
mention that Armenia takes the 45th place on the rating list of the
International Hockey Federation while Bosnia and Greece are left out.
Reminder: our team wasn't involved in the third division in 2007 as
the Irish Embassy in Moscow did not allow the team to participate in
the World Hockey Championship due in Dublin.
