RUSSIAN ARMENIANS SUPPORT PRIME MINISTER SERZH SARKISIAN

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 13, ARMENPRESS: The Moscow-based businessman of
Armenian descent, Ara Abrahamian, who is a Russian citizen, said
today in Yerevan that the Union of Russian Armenians, of which he is
chairman, will support prime minister Serzh Sarkisian in the February
19 presidential election.
Announcing this Ara Abrahamian said the decision was made after a
careful scrutiny of all candidates' election programs. Abrahamian
said their investigation showed that Sarkisian has been consistent
over the last ten years in improving Armenian-Russian relationships.
"Russian Armenians have great expectations from this election. We
want it to proceed in a transparent and clean manner,' Abrahamian said.
He also called on Armenians to participate actively in the election
as every vote is important.
