CAMPAIGNING BY FOREIGN CITIZENS AND ORGANIZATIONS VIOLATION OF ELECTION CODE: CEC REPRESENTATIVE

ArmInfo. Campaigning by foreign citizens and organizations is violation
of Election Code of Armenia, Head of Juridical Expertise Department of
Juridical and Program Department of Armenian CEC Sevak Hohannissyan
said at a Roundtable 'Effective Protection Methods by Election Code
of Armenia' in Yerevan, Thursday.
He said the applications informing of campaigning by foreign citizens
or organizations must be confirmed by a video record in order the
CEC submits the case to the court.
Asked by ArmInfo if there are objective mechanisms of determining
the violations of the Election Code, Hovhannissyan explained that
if the National Commission for Television and Radio believes that
there was a violation, it applies to the court. In this case, CEC
just expresses its point of view.
