Officials dismiss ex-president's remarks on firing 56 top security
officers
Presidential candidate Levon Ter-Petrosyan stated in his campaign
speech in Armenia's Vayots Dzor Region on 13 February that 56 top
officers of the National Security Service [NSS] have been fired from
their jobs after refusing to act against their own people.
The press service of the National Security Service of the Armenian
government has said that neither top officers nor ordinary staff
members have been fired from the NSS for the reason shown by the
presidential candidate.
Thus the statement is wide of the mark, the press service of the
National Security Service reported.
