INTERNATIONAL ASSISTANCE TO ARMENIAN MINISTRY OF JUSTICE
The UK ambassador to Armenia Charles Lonsdale and the minister of
justice of Armenia met February 18 on the ambassador's initiative,
the press secretary of the minister of justice of Armenia Lana
Mshetsyan reports. The ambassador said sorry for the accident in the
building of the ministry and technical support for the reconstruction
of the building.
The minister of justice Gevorg Danielyan thanked for attention and
told the ambassador about the activities during and after the
accident, as well as spelled out further activities, namely the
judicial reforms. They reached agreement on cooperation over drafting
the Trial Code of Armenia.
The ambassador inquired about the translation center of the ministry
of justice and was informed that the center's activities have not
been suspended, and it temporarily operates with support from the
AEPLAC. The center will move to the building of the service of
enforcement of court rulings after repair of the building ends. The
parties underlined the importance of the center. The UK ambassador to
Armenia Charles Lonsdale and the minister of justice Gevorg Danielyan
also agreed to continue collaboration over control of penitentiaries.
