    YEREVAN, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Armenia will hold presidential
    elections on Tuesday. Following are some facts and figures about the
    election and the southern Caucasus nation.

    -- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) says there are 2.32
    million eligible voters out of the approximately 3 million
    population;

    -- There are 1,923 polling stations in 41 electoral districts
    scattered across the mountainous country and no polling stations
    abroad;

    -- The CEC has accredited six international organizations and 39
    domestic non-governmental organizations with over 14,000 observers to
    carry out the observation mission;

    -- A candidate must win more than half of the votes to secure
    victory in the election. Otherwise, a run-off will be held between
    the top two candidates from the first round two weeks after the
    election.

    There is no minimum threshold for voter turnout in the election.

    The CEC will publish preliminary results within 24 hours of polls
    closing, and final results will be announced within seven days of
    election day.
