ArmInfo. 'Recognition of Kosovo independence by the world community
will become another factor strengthening the positions of Karabakh in
settlement of the conflict with Azerbaijan', Foreign Minister of NKR
Georgy Petrosyan said, ArmInfo correspondent to Stepanakert reports.
'We are not for drawing direct parallels between conflicts. Conflicts
have some common parameters but significant differences, particularly,
of the source and reason, format and dynamics, public sentiments,
peace and security mechanisms. Time showed that Nagorny Karabakh
is able to ensure effective government without external help,
as well as to wage foreign policy and ensure own security', the
speaker said. He also added that 'the approaches and decisions
that proved effective in settlement of a problem can be applied in
settling another problem. Rejecting this would be equal to rejecting
the nature of precedent and its role in formation of international
relations. Anyway, we will not pin all our hopes with settlement of
Kosovo conflict', Georgy Petrosyan said.
