AFTER RECALCULATION OF RESULTS OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS CONSIDERABLE VIOLATIONS RECORDED

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 21, NOYAN TAPAN. As a result of the recalculation
of the results of the RA presidential elections held on February
19 made in Polling Station 9/31, considerable violations have been
recorded. In particular, during the first calculation Serge Sargsian
has received 709 votes, and after the recalculation the number
changed into 395. This information was provided by Nikol Pashinian,
a member of the pre-electoral headquarters of Levon Ter-Petrosian,
during the rally held in the Freedom Square on February 21.
Nikol Pashinian stated that the authorities are given a a period
of time, which is defined by law, for calling to accout those, who
imposed violence on journalists, observers and empowered people,
as well as those, who made electoral falsifications. Otherwise,
"we will do what we should."
Arshak Banukhchian, the Deputy Director of Matenadaran (Armenian
repository of ancient manuscripts), also made a speech at the rally
and called the intellectuals "for joining the national movement and
standing for their future."
