Wilfried Martens, the President of the European People's Party,
congratulated Serge Sargsyan on his victory in the presidential
elections.
The message says, in part:
"It's a great pleasure to congratulate you for being elected to the
post of the President of the Republic of Armenia on behalf of the
European People's Party and myself.
I'm sure that your election will become a new impetus for the political
path Armenia has chosen, which is targeted at ensuring a proper place
in democratic Europe.
Although there are many problems to be solved in the future, we are
confident that with your convictions, fairness and resoluteness you
will be an ideal leader for your country and all its citizens."
