K. KARAPETIAN AND T. SAFARIAN, MPS OF BARGAVACH HAYASTAN PARTY DECLARE THAT THEY SUPPORTED AND WILL SUPPORT SERGE SARGSIAN

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 25, NOYAN TAPAN. Karo Karapetian and Tigran
Safarian, members of the parliamentary faction of the Bargavach
Hayastan (Prosperous Armenia) party, made a statement, in which
they expressed their indignation on the occasion of an "irrelevant
speculation" of their names.
It was declared at the mass meeting of the opposition on the eve
that the above-mentioned two MPs have joined the movement headed by
Levon Ter-Petrosian.
"We have, all in all, said that we are against the instigation
of instability in the country, which is full of unpredictable
consequences, which the forces standing on the platform have decided to
use as a support for them," is said in the statement of K. Karapetian
and T. Stepanian, which was spread by the press service of the
Republican party.
The Bargavatch Hayastan party together with the Republican Party of
Armenia has supported a common presidential candidate, and we will not
change our principles. As members of the Bargavach Hayastan party,
we officially declare that our position is distinct and no one has
a right to make a statement on our behalf," is said in the statement
of the MPs.
Tigran Stepanian affirmed in his interview with the Radio Liberty,
that he and Karo Karapetian have not left the Bargavach Hayastan
party and have supported and are supporting Serge Sargsian.
